On Horseback, Where Land Meets Water

Some landscapes are best crossed in silence, at a horse's pace. Between the Spiaggia Romea and the hinterland, where the pine forest fades into dunes and the dunes open onto salt marshes, a horseback ride becomes the most natural way to get in tune with the Delta. You proceed unhurried, in small groups, following trails that run alongside the water and wind through the reeds, where cars cannot go and the noise of the world stays behind.

The horses, used to these soft and changing terrains, know the rhythm of the place. From the saddle your gaze travels far, over the tall grass and the stretches of water where birds stop, while the light changes hour by hour and paints new shades on the landscape. It is an experience that speaks to those who have ridden for years as to those who are climbing into the saddle for the first time: the guides accompany every step, choose routes according to the participants' experience and tell the story of the nature you pass through. From time to time you stop, in the saddle or on foot, to observe a nest among the reeds or a reflection on the water, letting the landscape set the pace: it is a silent dialogue between rider, animal and the environment that welcomes them.

More than a sporting activity, it is an invitation to slow down. Contact with the animal, the steady gait, the open air and the salty scent bring a rare calm, made of simple gestures and attention. You return with the feeling of having come to know the territory from within, from an ancient and luminous perspective, and of having done so with respect, leaving untouched what you encountered.
